Program Description:
Telmate is a service provider for inmate phone service. When an inmate initiates a call, you must be Telmate Verified to receive phone calls. Part of the Telmate Verified process is to verify your location before a call can be connected. The Interactive Voice Recording system will ask for your permission to locate your phone. You are given the choice to accept or decline phone location verification.
Opt-In or Opt-Out/Decline Instructions:
Each time you receive a call from the inmate phone service you will be asked if you accept the terms of the location verification. Pressing “1” on your phone’s keypad indicates that you accept the terms. The system will then prompt you to confirm your acceptance by pressing “1” again.
If you choose to decline the location verification, press “2” the call will not be connected. Otherwise, you will be opted out automatically when the call is completed.

Terms & Conditions:
By accepting the location terms, you consent to allow Telmate to perform a one-time fix on your mobile location. Once the location has been verified the call will either be connected, or the phone system will inform you that the call will not be connected. You must be on your mobile carrier’s network for location verification, as location is not available if you are using a l line or roaming on a different mobile carrier network.
You will all be chargedlearn on the fees by pressing 4 to have the charged related in the call in addition stard voice minutes from your wireless carriers at your wireless package rate.

What information we collect: Telmate collects the latitude longitude of your mobile phone, the time date that the location was acquired, your mobile phone number, date that you consented to location verification. We may also collect the name
ID of your mobile carrier, the city, state time zone of where your mobile plan is registered.
How we use your information: Telmate uses location information to help determine the phone call tax rate
to check your distance from the correctional facility for regulatory purposes. We may also use personal information for internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis
research to improve Telmate’s products, services
customer communications.
When we collect your location: Your location is collected during phone call initiation, may also be collected during the duration of the call.
How long we keep the information: Your information is stored for 365 days then purged. After the retention period expires, the location data will be destroyed in a manner compliant with data destruction best practices
Protection of location information: Telmate takes administrative, technical physical precautions to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft misuse as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration destruction.

Service Providers
At times, Telmate may share your collected information with supporting service providers partners who provide services such as information processing, mobile communications, network operations, data services, support services, etc.. These companies are obligated to protect your information.
Law Enforcement Government Bodies
It may be necessary − by law, legal process, litigation, governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence − for Telmate to disclose your location information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.
Location Expiration:
Once you have consented to allow location verification, location verification will be enabled on your mobile phone. You will automatically be opted out after the call is completed, or can decline to be located (thus declining the call) by pressing “2.”
